“Unsavory Spoons”

The second picture of the year! Why I am excited about it?! I'll tell you! My camera has gathered dust for the last two months. Been too busy with work, and just plain haven't felt inspired lately. I visited the TFTTF forums to see what the 72-hour photo challenge was right now, and I find the unlikely topic of "spoons."

I have spoons, so why shouldn't I take pictures of them? I thought up some ideas, and let sit at the back of my mind while I was at the office. Once home, I had a pretty good idea of what I was going to do. However, it was heavily snowing outside, so I couldn't get any supplies. This turned out to be a (mostly) good thing. I embedded ever-larger spoons in some styrofoam, and set up the shot. Drizzling oil at various shutter speeds yielded very different photos. The one I kept is at a faster speed to cut down on blur.

I did most of the post-processing in Adobe's new Lightroom application, which was enjoyable, if a bit different from what I'm used to.
