Posted on June 27th, 2010A Saturday in June

Yesterday, Jen and I got our day started off right with a hike.

This past Sunday (Sept 6th) my Mom suggested we go to Virginia and hike up Old Rag Mountain in Shenandoah National Park.  What could possibly be wrong with getting outside and seeing a little nature?

This Fourth of July Jen and I once again headed up to the Rock Ledge cabin near Benton, PA.

After the job on Wednesday was finished, we headed back to the hotel to catch a few hours before driving out to Red Rocks Park.

Posted on April 14th, 2008Nixon Park, a quick tour

Went hiking yesterday at good ol’ Nixon Park, the park where I proposed to Jen so many months ago. If anyone remembers what day it was, please let me know before she reads this!

Envious Petals

Posted on March 30th, 2008

Jen received a bouquet of tulips from my mother, and that's all I'm saying about that subject. I used the tripod my Aunt Mary bought me for Christmas, and it worked very well. Coloring and minimal cropping done in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Spring Blossoms

Posted on March 16th, 2008

I should probably get a frequent-visitor pass for Longwood Gardens. The trees have their spring blossoms, and the light was fantastic Saturday. The sky was a clear blue, with but a few wispy clouds to break up the great expanse.

I always forget to look at the trees' name tags, so I have no idea what sort this one is. I'm still going through the other pictures I took, maybe one or two others will be worth posting.

Weather Drops

Posted on March 16th, 2008

Took this after a good day of rain. The single leaf was all alone in the parking lot, with drops forming all over it. Ran back inside and grabbed the camera and a +4 close-up. I like the way it turned out (this is the best out of 22 attempts).

There's no "I" in tree

Posted on March 16th, 2008

The subject of this picture was spotted by Jen, and I obliged by taking a few snaps of the tree in question. I used Lightroom to do the initial processing of the image - color corrections, cropping, etc. Photoshop was used to bring out the eye shape and make it ready for the web.
